Praise for Richard (Dick) B. Sanford,
Author Entrepreneur, Consultant
“I feel most fortunate to have participated in and experienced firsthand, several of Dick Sanford’s business strategic planning meetings over 10+ years, in my capacity as his financial, tax, and accounting consultant. Dick is a rare individual, who not only understands successful business principles, but who also has the unique ability to lead the process and the path to business success. His simplified strategic business planning model works, and the success and prosperity that his companies have achieved over the years is a sound testament to this. Additionally, his strategic approach and vision empowered his management team (and me as well) to be the best they could be, and I am truly grateful for this professionally rewarding experience.”

“After many years of focused energy devoted to building a new library, the Board began seeking guidance for envisioning the future of the new library. With the guidance of facilitator Richard B. Sanford, the Library Board was able to focus the future vision of the library through a new mission statement and a long range plan to guide growth and planning. The mission statement has remained strong and directive and the long range plan continues to provide a superior mechanism to review and implement short and long term goals. The impact of Sanford’s skills will be felt in our library and its service to the community for decades to come.”

SUCCESS BY DESIGN - INDEED!
I first became acquainted with Dick Sanford more than 35 years ago, first as an insurance consultant and then as a reinsurance consultant for his Health Care Plan, which later became a Mutual Insurance Company. Through these many years I was able to observe him develop, then implement his strategic business plans. I didn’t know it early on, but these were the formative years during which he perfected the process which is now his “SUCCESS BY DESIGN” simplified strategic planning approach.
As I sat in on many meetings with Dick and his team, I saw him challenge them to define objectives, set goals for achieving them, take responsibility for action. Having seen this over many years, I know that his success in all his enterprises were the result of “planning your work, and working your plan”. I learned that he didn’t just develop a plan and put it in a drawer. He began every meeting with a review of their Missions, Objectives and Goals. Then “where are we now in relation to where we want to [or should], be”.
Dick was kind enough to help me design and implement a strategic plan for my own venture into entrepreneurship, and I used it to great success for over 20 years. You can’t go wrong if you follow his principals.
